McKayla Rose Maroney is a retired American artist and a singer. She participated in the 2012 Summer Olympics as a part of in the American Women's Gymnastics team, referred to as the Fierce Five. At the Olympics she earned an individual silver medal and also a team gold. Her early life. McKayla Rose Maroney was born in Aliso Viejo, California, on December 9, 1995, the daughter of Erin and Mike Maroney (died 2019). McKayla has Irish Catholic heritage. Lauren has been in relationship with fitness model David Kagan (since August 2013) since the day they tied the knot. Aria Skye Kagan (born December 29th, 2019) is their child. Lauren lived briefly in Topeka on her own, but she was plagued with the recollections of her being kicked out of the church and her family.
